Fatherhood: Father Or Dad

Father Or Dad - Short Article

Fatherhood

Father is an important member of a family. He plays a vital role. Parenting comprises all the responsibilities associated with raising a baby to an independent person of the society. Parenting is a part of the relationship within a family.

Parenting Involves:

|Physical care

|providing protection, furniture, medical care,  physical safety

|Social growth and touching support

|Love, amusement, physical touch

|Social skills, manners

|Moral and sacred development

|Norms, and in the case of religious parents, religion.

Role of the dad is becoming more and more important with the passage of time. Gone are the days when mothers used to be the dominant and there was a concept “mother knows the best”. Now dads are beginning to make their presence felt.

More mothers are going back to paid work; many more homes are dual-income households. Now-a-Days mothers have very little time for their babies; they are busy in their jobs and making their professional carriers.

In this situation dads’ role has become more important as they have to share the responsibility of taking care of the kids or in some cases they have to take full responsibility of taking care of their babies.

This shift of responsibilities has made father and son or daughter relationship more strong. Children look for their father in case of any problem for help. This is a point to ponder for all mothers as they have to decide whether their jobs or carriers are more important for them or their children?

Mothers can support their families financially, but they have to pay the price in the shape of weak mother and child relationship.
